In 1956, he started Buffett Associates, and in 1962, Buffet invested in a textile company in New England named Berkshire Hathaway. This was a textile mill for dying. The same was in the future transformed into a multi-diverse business. And later, he decided to shut the textile business, yet continued to use the name for his other businesses. With hard work & dedication, he soon became one of the wealthiest men in the world.

In 2006, he stunned the world by announcing a significant share of his wealth to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The said foundation focuses on, among other things, worldwide schooling, U.S. libraries, and global health challenges and is one of the most extensive available charities in the world. His donations are in the form of Class B Shares of the Berkshire Hathaway stock. The overall share he makes is 10 million shares. It will be granted in 5% increments until Buffett ceases to exist. Buffett donated 500,000 shares in 2006, worth roughly 1.5 billion dollars.
